Fantasia Going On Tour with Kandi Burress and Eric Benet This Winter

“American Idol” winner and R&B/Soul singer Fantasia Barrino will be touring the country to promote her latest album “Back to Me.” On the tour Fantasia will be bringing along House Wives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress as well as singer Eric Benet. Although full details haven’t been released as of yet it was revealed that the tour will kick off on November 3rd in Richmond, VA and end in January.
Tickets for the tour are expected to go on-sale starting October 1.

It was Burress who made the announcement confirming the tour via her Twitter page (@Kandi) in which she said, “I’m going on tour with my girl Fantasia in November! It’s gonna be so fun!”

“Back to Me” is Fantasia’s third studio album, which features her latest singles  Bittersweet and I’m Doing Me. The album entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2, selling more than 117,000 units in it’s first week of release. Fantasia was seen working on the album during season one of her VH1 reality television series “Fantasia For Real”.

Burress is set to release her second solo album ‘Kandi Koated,’ on November 23. Burress was formerly a member of the R&B group Xscape.

Well I think it’s great for Fantasia to be touring at this time. It’s time for people to get past what has happened in her personal life this past summer.  The world really hasn’t seen performances like Fantasia’s live shows since the days when Patti Labelle was in her prime in the 70’s and 80’s (not to compare, but I definitely see Labelle’s influence within her performances.) Also being that Fantasia, Kandi and Eric Benet don’t fit into what is defined as “commercial” for today’s times, I think the tour will definitely attract a more mature audience (ages 27-42), rather than a younger crowd (ages 17-24). In either event I think as long as the tour is properly promoted it will do well.Find tour dates below:
